I am a retired Brigadier General, father of four beautiful daughters and grandfather to seven unique grandchildren. I retired in my ancestors’ village of Kfifane, Lebanon to dedicate myself to the care of the 1,000 olive trees which have been in the family for generations and to plant grape vines (see our family website www.bitar.net).
Kfifane is situated at 400m above sea level and offers an ideal vine-growing climate. The grape harvesting and picking are done manually and the wine making process is performed under the supervision of an accredited oenologist.

To date, I have planted over 24,000 vines imported from France for wine making on a surface area of approximately 60,000 m2.
The Red vines breakdown is as follows:
8,000 Syrah of which 25 and 2300 are of 6 and 4 years of age, respectively
5,000 Grenache of which 2,400 are four years of age
5,000 Mouverde of which 2,400 are four years of age
2,000 Cabernets Sauvignon three years of age
The White vines breakdown is as follows:
2,050 Chardonnay of which 150 and 1,900 are 6 and 4 years of age, respectively
2,150 Melon de Bourguogne eight years of age
1,000 Sauvignon three years of age
For the time being my wine production consists of 700 bottles of white wine, and I expect to produce 3,000 muscadets in 2002 and 7,000 bottles each of white and red wines in 2003.
In addition, the Arak and the olive oil we produce are of the highest quality.
